Celeste Shumate

Celeste began her nursing career in North Carolina after first earning her Associate Degree in Nursing in 1995 followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2003. She has worked in several areas including medical-surgical nursing, women’s health, camp nursing, and public health nursing. She moved to Alaska in 2008 and worked at Providence Valdez Medical Center in Long Term Care for 10 years before attending the University of Alaska Anchorage to pursue her Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in Family Practice. As a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Celeste enjoys learning something new every day, establishing long-term patient relationships, and strives to provide excellent care to her patients.
In her free time, Celeste enjoys being outdoors as much as possible hiking with her dogs, trail biking, and going on rafting/camping trips with her family.
